Most people are familiar with the Paul Maurer name because of the custom homes we have built in the Grand Traverse region for over 30 years. But we also have been building and remodeling commercial properties for that long. Although the needs of commercial construction are much different than those of the custom home owner, the same PMGC craftsmen that build beautiful residences for our customers apply those skills to our commercial projects.
We use the same formula that’s worked in the custom home market– attention to the very smallest of details. But what’s most important in commercial construction is a builder’s sensitivity to budgets and timeframes. Unlike a home, commercial scheduling is critical because there is always a pre-set deadline, and time is money. Success of the project requires maintaining open lines of communication between PMGC and you to ensure that decisions are made jointly, and in a timely fashion.
If the structure isn’t new, restoring the exterior and interior of a building requires decisions on what change is essential and what isn’t. These decisions can dramatically impact budgets. Matching historic vintage trim and paneling with the same materials used a hundred years ago is a given. But customers are often surprised to find that we do not automatically recommend tearing out more than what is absolutely necessary. It’s this part of the building process that is most critical. It requires a great deal of knowledge of past building techniques as well as the most contemporary techniques. That knowledge and experience helps establish budget parameters right at the onset of the project.
More and more companies are looking for an eye-catching, energy-efficient place of business featuring quality craftsmanship. A quality environment reflects on the business, and will have a positive influence the entire transaction experience. Often, the desired design effect can often be achieved by using cost-effective finishing materials.
We invite you to view our commercial construction portfolio. PMGC has been involved in many large condominium development projects, and most recently transformed an older home into a beautiful restaurant, remodeled many bank branch offices including the main office (the oldest commercial building in downtown Petoskey), built a beautiful, new 10,000 square foot wedding facility, and completely renovated a golf course clubhouse.
Let’s discuss your ideas.
Thanks, for visiting.
