  The Manitou Passage Golf Club

Formerly named the King's Challenge for it's designer, Arnold Palmer, the Manitou Passage is located in an area that gave rise to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, one of the most beautiful places in Leelanau County, Michigan. It's new owners changed the name and brought in Wadsworth Golf Course Construction to upgrade some holes (to help speed up play) and address some drainage problems. But the more critical issues the new owners faced were a complete remodeling of the clubhouse and building a new and easily accessible cart corral. That's when PMGC was called in to help.

Both affordable and beautiful, The Manitou Passage is carved into the rolling, hilly hardwoods of Leelanau County between Leland and Glen Arbor, and is considered by Arnold Palmer to be his "signature course”. Even before the renovations it was regarded by local golfers to be as challenging as it was serenely beautiful. A par 70 course, it plays 6,593 yards from the pro tees and has a slope rating of 145.
